The Big Story of the Bible for Preschoolers

Hey Reader!

The Bible is a big book and sharing God’s truth with the little disciples in your care is such a big part of your calling! But how do we make the Bible more than just a collection of stories – especially at a preschool level? One simple, engaging tool that you can use is this Gospel cube.

Before we jump into the six sides of the cube, let’s start with the BIG truth about the Bible. Renee Blain, Preschool Minister at Brentwood Baptist Church says:

“The Bible is True with a capital T. Everything in it is from God.”

That’s the overarching truth we want to share with young children first.

So, what’s the story of the Bible at a preschool level? (Click here to read the full version Renee uses plus several other downloadable resources.)

  1. In the beginning, God made everything and it was GOOD!
  2. But, OH NO! The people disobeyed God. This is called sin. Sin separates us from God.
  3. God chose a special people, called the Israelites and God wanted to be with them. But they kept disobeying Him.
  4. God sent Jesus to help us. He died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. That was a sad day, but then he ROSE again 3 days later!
  5. After Jesus rose from the dead, he began the Church and said their job was to go and tell others about Him! Now this is our job, too! We get to tell people about Jesus so they can know Him too!
  6. Then Jesus went to heaven and He is preparing a place for us there!

How are you teaching biblical truth to the little people in your classroom? Do you think the Gospel Cube would be a helpful tool for you to try, too?

Cheering you on this week!
