Summer Survival Tips for Teachers

Hey Reader!

Summer in childcare can be joyful—and exhausting. There’s a little less pressure, and we’re having loads of fun, but the days still require a lot of energy, don’t they? Here are a few quick ways to stay grounded and fill your cup throughout the day!

  • Sip Slowly – Hydrate with intention. Say a prayer each time you take a drink: “Lord, fill me with Your peace today.”
  • Pause and Praise – Take a 2-minute breather to thank God for one small moment of beauty today. Take three deep breaths – on the first one, notice where your body is tense and intentionally relax those muscles; on the second one, notice one moment of beauty today; on the third one, remind yourself that God is with you.
  • Scripture Sticky Note – Choose a verse for the week and write it on a post-it note and put it where you’ll see it each time you leave your classroom, or each time you wash your hands, or on your clipboard or water bottle. (Join our Sticky Note Scripture Challenge on Facebook and Instagram – where are YOU posting scripture?)
  • Worship Walk – Take a few minutes at the end of your day to walk and pray – no music, no podcast, just gratitude. Let God reset your heart for tomorrow. (Even if it’s hot, just use your walk from your classroom to your car as an intentional time of gratitude to God.)

You can’t pour into others if you’re running on empty. Let Him refill you in small ways throughout the day!

Forward this to a teammate who could use a little encouragement today!

P.S. Post pictures of your summer scripture sticky notes to Facebook and Instagram and tag us! We’d love to see what God is using to encourage you this summer!

Cheering you on this week!
