You need your team to have continuing education hours but you don’t want them just sitting in front a video running at 2x speed (or let’s be honest, skip to the end and pass the quiz). You want hands-on, interactive training that will actually make a difference in how they show up in the classroom next week! And you don’t want to do all this yourself!!  Well…..we’ve created something just for YOU (and your team)!

A Micro-Event – a small number of early education professionals gathered together to learn, brainstorm, discuss, role-play, share — real ideas that are applicable in your own context immediately. As a leader, we ask that you act as a rotation facilitator (or can you can designate someone on your team).  Training and a script will be provided for you so you’ll be fully prepared and equipped. You will register your team, but not yourself.

Hands-on professional development in community with other local programs with a faith perspective. Join us as we seek to build up our staff and our community with faith-based, interactive training.  Your staff will get clock hours checked off, but they’ll also get their hearts filled up!

Let’s get started!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS!

TALK, READ, SING, PLAY

  1. We’ll start with a short, encouraging scripture-based welcome message.
  2. We’ll review expert training together.
  3. Then breakout into four (4) small group rotations based on daily roles within the center. Facilitators will guide attendees through each activity. All attendees will have an opportunity to participate in each rotation. Each rotation includes experiential learning and direct application to the classroom through role-playing, discussion, group debriefs, and resource creation.
  4. Attendees will have an opportunity in each rotation to commit to adjust one part of their classroom routine in their own context.
  5. We’ll spend a few minutes at the end of the event to gather with your team to debrief and share our commitments for moving forward. This builds shared accountability and provides a final assessment of understanding and application within each team.

MICRO-CONFERENCE DETAILS:

Designed for Christian early childhood educators and caregivers, this workshop explores how the simple framework of “Talk, Read, Sing, and Play” builds young children’s brains and supports early learning and development. Through a mixture of expert teaching and hands-on breakout sessions facilitated by others in the trenches with you, you’ll discover simple, practical ways to make everyday classroom moments meaningful opportunities for connection, language development, and learning—all without expensive materials. We’ll combine discussion, role-play, and hands-on activities to make this content immediately applicable to your classroom.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain how everyday interactions physically shape neural pathways—and prevent synaptic pruning—during the critical 90% pre-kindergarten brain growth window.
  • Eliminate “absent presence” and digital distractions by prioritizing intentional, face-to-face “serve and return” interactions that foster emotional security and self-regulation.
  • Transform ordinary caregiving moments (mealtimes, diapering, arrivals) into high-volume language opportunities through descriptive conversation and interactive, multi-domain storybook discussions.
  • Apply simple melodies and rhythmic songs to activate whole-brain processing, ease daily routines, and strengthen memory.
  • Design multi-sensory, choice-driven play experiences that encourage problem-solving and creative ownership rather than rigid, adult-controlled or aesthetically restrictive tasks
